of history and paved the way for freedom for so many from around the world. His legendary, “I Have
a Dream Speech”, at the March on Washington, has been viewed as a symbolic message of hope,
and continues to be acknowledged as one of the most powerful speeches for human rights. This
lesson plan will challenge students to analyze the “I Have a Dream Speech” and write a speech
that can describe a possible solution or “dream” for an issue facing the world today.
