At AFS-USA, we believe in providing support to our schools and their staff members as well as the students and host families. When schools welcome AFS exchange students to the school community, we know that the informal learning among students in classroom discussions, on the bus, and at sports practices brings forth a lot of growth in intercultural understanding, but we also want to help you provide some intentional opportunities for learning when the AFS students are in the building.
Each spring and summer, AFS-USA is proud to provide you with the opportunity to learn from our staff members, many of whom are former educators or have strong ties to education, to engage in an interactive webinar to learn about best practices in hosting international students. In this webinar, we'll discuss the flexibilities that schools have in enrollment and scheduling, how to handle diplomas/graduation, best practices for onboarding students at the start of the school year, and so much more.
Opportunities for 2026 will be posted in early spring. If you are interested in meeting about these topics at a different time, please don't hesitate to reach out to educators@afsusa.org.
